Award of Excellence in Teaching
The Award of Excellence in Teaching recognizes members of the teaching staff for their outstanding achievements in teaching or writing textbooks. By sharing their knowledge and enthusiasm, they help make Université Laval the vibrant, exciting place it is.
An select award
The Awards of Excellence in Teaching have been honouring members of the teaching staff for distinguished teaching or writing textbooks since 1997. What the recipients have accomplished is a true embodiment of excellence, commitment, creativity, and fresh thinking.
The Awards of Excellence in Teaching are under the responsibility of the Vice Rector, Academic and Student Affairs, recognizing the contributions of women and men who masterfully share their dedication and knowledge and thus burnish the reputations of their faculties and of Université Laval in general.
Recipients attend a ceremony presided over by the Rector, where they are awarded a sum of money from Fondation de l’Université Laval in the form of an educational development fund.
Recognizing and showcasing excellence
Université Laval Awards of Excellence in Teaching serve to:
- Highlight outstanding teaching within the teaching community
- Encourage faculties and units to recognize and affirm teaching by selecting their nominees themselves
- Draw attention to instruction at Université Laval and to the recipients both within the Université Laval community and in other organizations
